lock&quay
A friend of mine a few shops up the road from mine is a really good engraver But He doesn't want to do Dog tags . What would be a good machine for this type of thing ? cheers.
exp121260
If it is only for dog tags , you can get a second hand Gravogarph manual machine (cost £150-250 on ebay or Gumtree or may be some on in this forum). However, Engraving on them is time consuming if you very busy at your shop, but they do the job nicely and efficiently. While, if you want expand to other types of engraving in the future , you can invest in a computerised machine such as GEM TX5 U-MRAQ which cost 3-4 K new or around 2 K second hand on ebay. lock&quay
beware
For a non spinning diamond drag mark for dog tags you could use an M20 Energy or the new M10. (Gravograph) lock&quay

Chris Hanson
Hi, Engraving machines are only as versatile as your imagination, Dog Tags will bring in some revenue but whilst they are there mention that you can do other items too...Keyrings, luggage tags, charity/fundraising items etc all of these can be engraved under the flat engraving heading but investing a little bit more and adding a ring engraver option will open a few more doors. Make your tags bespoke with funny slogans for golfers and contact the club captain to see if he thinks the members would be interested he/she may even give out club keyrings as id tags?...Tennis clubs, Bowls clubs ...basically you need to get out and about...Proactive not Reactive selling lock&quay
