Simes
Any ideas on how to remove the broken drill bit from metal tube heels like these? Tried all sorts and can't make it shift!
Michael
Can you get something pointed down the flutes and turn anti-clockwise, two nails perhaps, then twist slowly with pliers???
Simes
Yeah been trying that. But anything small enough just bends
Michael
Best thing to to is try and get the tube out.... Carefully.... Cut the heel down slightly to get a grip on the tube.Generate loads of heat into the tube and extract....fit a new tube. These aren't tubes, they're solid metal. Flash
Not a simple way out, but try turning upside down and tapping heel on last, sometimes works. Pins down the sides of flutes, twist anti clockwise sometimes works. needs patience. Failing that consider changing heel blocks.
Auto Key Wizard
Tricky problem... Cut the heel back say 3mm to expose the the bit, then twist out with a good pair of grips/pliers
SteelCityShoes
Pins town each side and twist, could take a few attempts. Turn it upside down and tap it a few times on the last. Assuming it’s a cheap drill bit, if nothing else works get a Carbide drill bit, they’ll go through pretty much anything
Paul_
Put a drop of oil down the tube, wait 10 mins then tap down on the last. Not a definite answer but has worked a few times for me. Good luck.

grahamparker
Drill as deep as you can, shorten the pin on the top piece and super glue gel a metal top. Hope for the best.
