k4mrc
Is there anyone out there who might be able to guide me (and others in our trade)? N.V.Q's I am trying to take on a apprentice, and under the rules will have to provide some qualification (I have worked out how to if not available within this trade) But, would help greatly for shoe repairs or key cutting or engraving? This could have been something SoMSR could get into except i'm sure they don't bother anymore? Any tips?

Mick Friend
Years ago when I tried to set up one for the MLA there was a SRITO (I think) shoe repair industry training organisation that had cornered the NVQ's for both industries. trouble was nobody was ever interested and it all collapsed on the lock side anyway. kobblers
When I was doing my YTS, I worked as a trainee shoe repairer but my qualification would have been in Retail and Distribution. Maybe you could try for retail or something similar, as there is no recognised shoe repair qualification. Hope this helps. Rick.
