Mike at Vauxhall
Had an enquiry, customer stayed in a hotel, apparently beg bugs were a problem. Worried her shoes are contaminated, and asked me to spray them. I am assuming an insecticidal spray, anyone got any advice to decontaminate the shoes. Three pairs, one pair suede, one pair soft leather and one pair canvas.
Mike at Vauxhall
Would sticking them in the oven at 122f/50c for a couple of hours do the shoes damage, ( but would kill the bugs)
grahamparker
Would sticking them in the oven at 122f/50c for a couple of hours do the shoes damage, ( but would kill the bugs) Yes it would damage them. Insecticide spray should do the trick something like this. https://www.amazon.co.uk/RENTOKIL-SPRAY-INSECTROL-INSECT-KILLER/dp/B005DX3EZM/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1505909162&sr=8-9&keywords=insecticide+spray Mike at Vauxhall

Count Muppet
I wouldn’t take them in personally. What if they infected other customers shoes? Get her to spray them herself away from your shop

pdr
I remember when Jeremy Vine had a Pest Control expert on his show. He gave someone who called into the show advice on getting rid of Moth larvae. He told them to seal the garments up in bags, and put in freezer for couple days! Said that'll kill anything.
