leathstitch
Hi. I'm looking for a handtool I used to see in repair shops. They are probably regarded as antiques now. It had a wooden handle with a straight shaft coming from it. At the end there was a blade at a right angle to the shaft and this was sharp on th inside edge and came in various widths depending on the thickness of the sole. on the end of this blade was a narrow piece of metal, supposedly to stop the blade from cutting the shoe upper. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Thank you Steve
