kobblers
here's a question i've wanted an answer for for years: why is it when you try to melt down the yankee wax remnants that it doesn't hold together too well and breaks when you try to use it?> rick. Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
This would be in the melting proccess. All bits have to reach the same temperature throughout the piece no matter what the size, only then will they flow into each other. Be aware that the temperature required for this can lead to instant ignition from fumes.
kobblers
thanks for the warning, is a heatlamp likely to cause it? rick.

Too soft for that job Alan, needs an addition of Carnuba. Melting with Lamps is OK Rick as long as it dont get too hot as long as there is no naked flame near to. Easier way to do it is by using a Cheese Grater, then it melts much quicker as saves power. Add black shavings to brown to get a darker brown if needed. Use Tin foil in a wooden box to support the sides of the foil, you dont want the sides to collapse and hot wax running everywhere. Add Carnuba shavings if you want a higher shine.
