kobblers
i've just had a yale yax key in with an evva profile which i didn't recognise, i've cut it from the EV6L as that seemed to be a perfect match but i'd rather have the proper key shape if it's available. does anyone know this key? cheers, rick. Jay
yale have started manufacturing the YAX5 profile onto the same shape head as the YAX1. (davenports ref) so my bet is that its just a YAX5, but the shape of the head threw ya

SKS_User
Quick question, has anyone seen the OTHER 6 pin key with YA-79D (YL X1) head? Keep getting conflicting reports, some customers say YA-46D (YL X5) works fine, some say that no, it has the same profile as YA-79D but is 6-pin. Just curious whether it's people assuming profile based on headshape, or whether there's a third key out there with that head shape.

SKS_User
wish someone would speak in silca or hd codes So YL X1 and YL X5 aren't HD codes?? Ok so I put spaces in but I didn't that'd confuse anyone on here could you please tell me the what the difference is between the 6pin and the ya 46d as i have had a few of these i cut not work but my machine is set up fine and the yale x test lock i have shows no probs. Difference in the profiles should be quite noticeable, particularly as the YA-46D (YL X5) has a marked downward turn on the cutting edge, and the other grooves are shallower.
