keyfast
yes, we find glenway are good for there stock, but only problem is the postage cost, £5.00 to £8.00 per order, where as timpsons use glenway and get free postage on orders over £25.00. if its good for timpsons it should be good enought for other small business not just the big boys. thank you
toofatbyfar
true, glenway are much better than they used to be,, is that really true that timpos get free del on orders £25.00 and over.. this really peas me off, some of my customers only want say a ten pound item and i have to pass the postage on to them, if they were to give us small businesses free post £25.00 and over, i would order other bits to make it up to £25.00... couple of years ago they were crap, allways wrong or broken. Michael
I didn't know that, I have ordered best part of 2000 worth of trophies in the last 11 weeks and havepaid postage Same for me,as I've said before on previous post I pass the postage on to customer, some moan, some dont. I've got quite a bit of stock built up over the last couple of years that I never had room for so I bought a glass cabinet from Agros () and put up some shelves and filled both with as many trophies as I could fit.I've sold nearly 4 big boxes worth of trophies in the last month without any postage worries.Seems if you can afford it high stock levels are the order of the day from about April to July!! ironplanet uk900
What do you need to spend as an independant to qualify for free postage. Or do they not do free postage.
ANDY
i think you are looking at over £100.00 to get free carriage from the glenway bods. they also say to expect more carriage costs on glass tankards if you prefer to recieve them in one piece
Michael
i think you are looking at over £100.00 to get free carriage from the glenway bods. No,I placed an order last month for nearly £300 and still paid £9.16 for the p+p.
ANDY
i think you are looking at over £100.00 to get free carriage from the glenway bods. No,I placed an order last month for nearly £300 and still paid £9.16 for the p+p. you would have thought they could bin the carriage on an order that size you should try to negotiate a better deal with glenway, it's all down to your annual spend for example, with trendsetting awards you only have to spend a grand in one year to qualify for free carriage over £250, up to five grand will get you free carriage over £200, then up to ten grand will bag you free delivery over £
Michael
I give my customers Glenway and Trend catalogues but they prefer the Glenway ones...
Graham
i think you are looking at over £100.00 to get free carriage from the glenway bods. No,I placed an order last month for nearly £300 and still paid £9.16 for the p+p. Try ordering from Swatkins. We've placed an order for nearly £1000 before and still got charged for postage, not only that but they sent us a separate invoice for two additional boxes that the stuff came in. Today we needed to order two silver plate salvers for delivery by 10am direct to our customer, they charged us £33 for that and an extra £6 because it needed to go to the client under plain clothes. I can get my own courier to deliver it for £13 if I had the goods here!!! They do offer a good service, but it sure comes at a premium price. On subject though, we've always found Glenways to be good too.
Lee
I think that trophy suppliers are always worried about appearing competative, but I wish they would divide the yearly postage budget evenly through out the catalogue & lose it in the retail price of the trophies perhaps with a minimum quantity order to cover those taking advantage with small 1x orders. then we wouldn't have this problem of do we don't we charge our customers. this topic has raised its head on more than one occasion so clearly its something that grates on the customers minds. Michael
Surely even free delivery over £25 or £50 would be something
keithm
Has anyone actually contacted Glenway and discussed your issues with them? They are best placed to explain their position and negotiate your terms whatever they may be? Something to remember is that the volume of business they do with Timpsons will allow them more flexibility with the costs. Carrier charges are going up at the moment due to fuel, so it is very difficult not to adjust your pricing accordingly.
Guest tim.wilford@glenway.co.uk
Thanks for the vote of confidence. We at Glenway have put an awful lot of time & effort into improving our service.I'll make sure the staff read it. The other point which has been made, about our carriage deal with Timpsons, is not correct. I would never talk to any customer about another customer but I can tell you, that the person that started this rumour re postage is totally incorrect. We don't as such have a carriage paid value, unlike other companies, we charge a transparent price & don't add an amount on to take it off again. Saying that we at Glenway try to help wherever possible and we will always look at individual orders. Once again thanks for yiur support
