ironplanet uk900
No difference k49999, Some locks have lugs on the inner casing, the cutouts need to be there to bypass these lugs. If the lugs aren't there it doesn't matter
kobblers
we just stock the b571 for both these keys, being only a little shop and needing all the space we can get it's a sacrifice we've had to make, besides it doesn't matter unless yer a puritanical key cutter we also use the b440 for both versions of the five lever union, that is the one with two side cuts (b440) and the one with only the one side cut (can't remember the bloody code )
Auto Key Wizard
the one with only the one side cut (can't remember the bloody code ) B430

kobblers
to make you spend money on two different blanks i suspect, though this is probably me being cynical, that it's for those who don't know that the b571 will do both every time. Guest napster (1961-2007)
Posted: Tue Sep 12, 2006 5:02 pm Post subject: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- did know this of course, but wondered why manufacters have made 2 key blanks for the same key? probaly best i as "napster" but i bet even he dont know! - yes one blank will do both jobs (b571) but you have to go with manufacturers designs.. when they went to bs3621 they have to increase the differs in the lock so have to use a bolt thrower or curtain which means deeper cuts nearer the edges of the key hence a weakness if sidewards are used ..... therefore no need for them....OK.... GARYUnwin
how could anyone doubt that the napster would not know about keys and key blanks. perhaps a challenge napster subject could be sent up for questions etc about key cutting to show how good he is.
