kobblers
this may seem like a pretty dumb question for someone who's been using cutter bits for 17 years but does anyone know how to converth the cutter sizes from letter to the actual metric sizes? i tried to order a new a cutter recently but the lady on the helpline wanted to know the actual tip size which thicko here doesn't know as he's never had to before. i need to know the tip sizes for the cutters usually specified a,b,c,d,e,f. cheers, rick. Lee
Kev If you are referring to CharleB, can you find out for us and post the answer for all to see, then the information will be available to others who in the future do a search and find this post, but don't actually know either! kev
Lee, good point made, but I'm not talking about Charles Birch, just myself. I'm happy to give out knowledge, as posts are made out of working hours. Plus the disclaimer in my sig frees Charles Birch of any blame for anyone following my advice. Anyway, here goes, these are the guides I have worked to for years.... Tip A = 0.32mm Tip B = 0.5mm Tip C = 0.75mm Tip D = 1mm Tip E = 1.25mm Tip F = 1.5mm Cutters can be ground to any size up to 2.75mm, so if you need any others just ask. Don't forget, these cutters can be reground numerous times once blunt. I can supply cutters and re-grinds for nearly all engraving machines, again just ask. Hope this helps!
