Lee
I have now set up our first ever Price survey. I have sectioned the survey into 4 separate surveys because there are approximately 88 questions! Previous price surveys have been a bit restrictive with answers since many jobs we all price differently, for example with engraving some price per letter, others per word. Our survey is different! When you enter each answer you will find a text box, which means you can enter the way YOU price a job. The surveys will run for 3 weeks un-till December 23rd only, when I will average out all the answers received. Please take the time to respond to these questioners as it will be the largest pricing survey to have ever taken place, so provided we have a good response will be a valuable tool for us to use. Lee
I have already received a few results for the survey, however one member has had problems with error messages. since this is the first attempt at the survey can you email me if you do have any trouble! I think it may have been the length of one particular answer that caused the error, so keep text replys as brief as possible until I can see what caused the error Lee
StevenB
I think the error was caused by my lovely punctuation. Every time I used an apostrophe, a problem occurred. Don't, i mean do not do this & you'll probably be okay!
kobblers
'twas definetely not the apostrophes that caused any errors for me, i don't know what it was but it resolved itself! rick.
Lee
The price survey is on its way, but have you filled out yours yet? if the answers yes then thank you very much, if the answers no then why not! The surveys are all anonymous I have no way of knowing who has filled out what so it would be much appreciated if we could gain a few more results. I am hoping (dependent on other things!) to get the results on the site Christmas eve, so please don't leave it too long The following categories can be answered at SHOE REPAIRS closed KEY CUTTING closed ENGRAVING closed WATCH REPAIRS closed Lee

Lee
credibility As with every thing to do with the forum, the majority are skeptical of its intentions and have to be convinced first! How ever the key to our survey is openness and comprehensiveness. it shows a lot more prices than most previous published surveys and only the publisher knows how many people actually answer them, at least we know! don't despair at only 7 results they where very diverse from (personal opinion) bloody cheap to very expensive! with a few in between so the average is a good mean average of todays prices. the main reason I showed how many answers I had received was so that we can get a feel for how many people offer certain services. I could easily have missed this valuable statistic out! Lee
