  1. If you stock Woly Combi Proper that will do it Rick.
  2. Snow? Snow? Don't talk to me about snow. Took me 4.1/2 hours to travel 23 miles home yesterday. I mean whats wrong with people, why can't they drive in snow for gods sake. Its not difficult. its all the first gear foot to the floor brigade that cause the problems.
  3. A good idea might be to offer different delivery options and prices as most big internet sellers do. Having said that she should have known that Christmas is always a bad time anyway and she should have ordered earlier. I wouldn't loose sleep over it Andy. Oh Merry Christmas
  4. Stanley knives are fine in the right hands Hugh. One learns to respect knives over the years. I only use the stanley knife for cutting out sheeting or trimming nitrile heel fronts. I also use a small bladed knife for cutting welt stitches and a 4" blade for skiving. I can't remember the last time I sliced myself.
  5. I concur. Try an ice pack on it it may make the wax brittle enough to pick off
  6. Let your kids do it Lee. They will probably make a better job of it.
  7. Hugh i don't think Ray said you don't cut the welt stitch. You have misread his post. You can always get your knife between the welt and the sole. An application of Kumzoff will help in this if it is secured a bit to tight. And why in desperation would you not scour the leather. Are you talking about the sole or the welt? As for knives I use a stanley knife a great deal now, not that I can't sharpen a knife but it's easier on my hands especially my thumb joints when trimming heel fronts
  8. THATS THE WAY TO DO IT,,,especially when they have been repaired before,,, takes 2 minutes,,, worst ones, i find, are the shoes with middles in,, best to pull this back too, easier to get them out. Absolutley concur. Go beyond the lock easy peasy. Bit of crepe helps to drag the stitches out too from the welt side, a piece of crepe is also handy for removing the covering off engraving plates
  9. Just sand blasted this. It took 10 minutes to mask and engrave. Would be curious to know how long something like this would take with diamond?
  10. erm....... thats a toughy....... let me think . Oh i've got it you used the wrong blank.
  11. No it's ok panic over discodave lives phew. i have seen it with my own eyes
  12. This actually raises a point for me. And Lee I know you will read this. Is there any way some sort of legal advisor could be introduced to the site to advise not just us as business owners, but also our customers who have issues. Bearing in mind you have created a monster far bigger than you could have ever imagined. If i'm talking bollocks i'll get my coat.
  13. Old person + wet conditions + whatever sole material + marble floor is going to spell disaster. I personally do not use Mastergrip soles, I would think if the person in question has a claim it is with the shopping centre not you. It is not your problem. Is this person trying to make a claim against you?
  14. Gav, look here http://www.mysecuritypro.com/trimark.aspx sorry didn't have time to go through them all. Ilco numbers you can cross ref
  15. Hang on let me get this right Ginge . You have bought Whitfield 700 and a Singer 29K71 for £150 and you are whinging about spending a few quid to put them right. As Jo says ya tight wee shite. Spend £500 and you still have a bargain. Oh and I have looked at your website and your sporran work etc............ Respect =D> =D>
  16. Excellent advice by all, but as we have not heard from discodave for 5 days now, we can only assume that he did not receive the advice in time and is in fact firmly attached to the boots......to the band.....to the machine by melted material and is actually starving to death as we speak
  17. Concur with everything said so far. Just thought I would pop in a link that may explain it a bit more. http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/ask_the_doc ... itis.shtml Oh and stay off the high heels at weekends Rick
  18. If its Glenway you have had your catalogues from then a letter to introduce yourself and a link to the catalogue http://www.trophy2010.co.uk would suffice complete with sounds of turning pages just to make you feel you have a real catalogue. Most people have internet access these days. Can get a bit expensive sending out catalogues.
