That would be a big fine for doing that from our local council if they found out we where taking home trade waste even if it is to recycle.

Caught the end of 'Dom on the spot' on the TV at lunchtime where they were doing exactly this, rummaging through bins and fining people for putting recycling in with the general waste.

Don't hold your breath Rick ..................... Good effort though mate. =D>

I got a reply from Birch:

"Thanks for your email and suggestions. The subject is close to our hearts and for a number of years now we have been re-cycling all our waste. We invested in a shredding machine to re-cycle our waste cardboard, our waste skip is purely for material that can be re-cycled and all our old electrical goods, light bulbs etc. are dealt with in a responsible way.

On the broader subject there is obviously a lot more that we can all do and you are quite right company’s such as ourselves can do a lot more. I will start a discussion within Charles Birch as I do know Chris Wilson is passionate about it as well."

Rick.

Good work Rick.

I do like a nice sturdy cardboard box off Birch's though.

I have not yet got any bags for shoes yet but I also put keys in plastic bags so I have changed to little brown envelopes 108mm x 102mm but as they cost more then the plastic ones I will not give to every customer only ones that ask or have a large order
