test the battery (try another one)..

check for both contacts + and - ..clean them with pure alcohol or (zippo fuel) see if it had insulating sleeve and its still there

Have you tried pushing all the digital buttons in at the same time?

You could also check instructions on line, see if there is any hints in them.

A real cliffhanger worthy of any Game of Thrones finale, or even as big as "Who Shot JR?!"

I didn't go to sleep until midnight and I'm awake again at 6 ooooh how terrible, did the shoe fairies fix it? was it a duff battery contact, was the battery upside down? maybe it had a protective film on the battery. I don't KNOW AND I AM STILL WORRIED it will affect my whole day as I paint and glue skirting to the walls, hope I don't put it on upside down as I have had no sleep.......
