wood engraving

Recommended Posts

Good morning,

I have been asked to engrave some hard wood hotel key tags. I have never done wood before but was going to tackle like it was laminate.

I was about to start them but thought I would just check with the collective great minds on here as to whether there is anything I should know before I start.

Cheers in advance

Laminate setting is probably a good place to start, but I would want some practice pieces to get the settings right.

Best solution in my opinion - Laser engraving or vinyl cutting!!

We do a lot of wooden coasters during the holiday season. They come out great. Our setting is close to what we use for acrylics for softwoods. For hardwoods we increase the power slightly.
