    Single Use Plastic

As a company, we are extremely environmentally friendly, and we have done a lot to offset our carbon footprint including planting 56,000 trees in Thailand as well as getting solar powered panels fitted to all our roofs, which now powers over 80% of our electricity. With regards to blister packaging, we have been doing a lot of work on the plastic that is used in our blister packaging. From the very start we have always made sure that the plastic can be recycled. We have also now sourced a new blister supplier who makes all of the blisters from recycled plastic bottles. I do agree that plastic can be overused in the industry, however not all plastic is bad.
  4. Hi, The donation before advertising for new members was only brought in on Friday, about a week after you made your post Lottie. There have been many people do the same thing in the past, and as far as I am concerned you have done nothing wrong. The new rules have not been brought in specifically because of your post, but because we are noticing more and more people creating an account to try and sell their stuff for free. They then promise a donation to the charity once they sell their items, but it is not donated and we never hear from them again... something which is beginning to irritate long term members of the forum and hence the introduction of the new rules. Lottie has now made a generous donation to the Jimmy Mizen charity, and we should all draw a line in the sand and move on. I wish you all the best Lottie and I do hope you sell all of your locksmith equipment and get your situation resolved.

    New Stock

I think that is right to an extent, if someone decides they want a security product they will go to a hardware store. However we have found that window restrictors and self adhesive door numerals are more impulse purchases which people buy just because they are there and are inexpensive. The shop location and how / where the products are displayed will have a lot to do with sales. If you did decide to purchase the Citysafe branded products we would be more than happy to help with any marketing material to try and maximise the sales potential.

    New Stock

Home security products are a good line to stock, especially with it coming up to Summer. Things like window restrictors etc. are good sellers. We also find that shops seem to do really well with self adhesive door numbers too, as they can fit them on any surface including bins! Check out https://www.citysafeuk.com/citysafe-retail-range.html

  10. And to back up what Rick says, this is a professional forum to help each other out. We have had many people ask how to do things, and everyone has helped each other out, whether they be the trade or the public. There is no excuse whatsoever to abuse someone who is simply asking for help. Any future abuse like the disgusting language that was used will simply end you up with a lifetime ban. Jay I'm sorry about the language used, and I hope you don't see it as a reflection of the forum as a whole.
  11. What key blanks are you looking at getting coined for you to stock? It would be worth looking at the Colorama keyblank range from UAP, which allows all the keys to be easily (and cheaply) personalised using inserts which are laser engraved and then clipped on to the blank.
  12. Marine grade 316 stainless steel will be the only metal capable of lasting that long in the sea without rusting or corroding. Brass, zamak, zinc etc. all corrode extremely quickly with the sea salt. I'm not familiar with mettalex, but if it's made from plastic then maybe a good option to use too. Brass hardware lasts around 6 months at the coast before it starts to corrode and rust - you can only imagine how much quicker it would corrode if it was in the actual sea!

    Welcome to the forum
  14. The site on there is a microsite of the main 'welovetrophies' website, so the source code will be practically the same and will relate all to the main welovetrophies site. All the microsites will be hosted on the same server as the main website. What I'm guessing is that Glenway have the facility to allow customers to have their own branded website on the same platform, where the customer will be able to change slideshow banners, website colours, logos and contact details. I'm guessing that the product prices, images and descriptions are all set by Glenway, and when they update in on their main website, it will automatically update it to the same as their site, so that all their customers who use their microsite have the same prices etc. The question that you should be asking is if any random person from the street can contact them and have their own microsite set up to start selling trophies, or is it only existing customers that can have it set up.
  15. Hi. We are currently in the process of creating a training manual and video to show you exactly how to use the machine. As soon as it is done I will let you know.
  16. In the first shot he has a piece of paper in his hand which he is reading, as the guy behind him signals to the officer. In the next shot the piece of paper is missing!
  17. Oh dear! I think the person in charge of continuity should have gone to Specsavers!
  18. Hi. I have a friend who is looking to start offering glass engraving on a number of different products i.e. wine bottles, perfume bottles etc. He it looking for an engraver that is able to engrave text and also detailed images which a user uploads. He is brand new to engraving, and is looking for some advice on the best engraver to buy. Also if anyone has any second hand glass engravers they are looking to sell please let me know and how much you want for it, and I will pass all the information on to him. Thank you in advance
  19. We are limited to what the forum software can do. I can see if it is possible but it is doubtful I think as it would already be a function if it was available.
  20. Hi all. The software we use to run the forum has had a significant upgrade, which we need to install (as they are stopping support on the current version we are on). I am not sure exactly when the upgrade will go ahead as it is the company themselves installing it, however it can take up to 10 working days. I don't think it will take the forum offline while the new version is installed, but I am not 100% sure. Unfortunately with the new version, it will potentially delete some of the custom plugins on the forum. However until it is completed I am not sure what will be changed. Things like posts, members, topics etc. will all be in tact, but the physical look of the forum may change. I'll let you know once it is complete, and if you see anything which is out of place or anything which is missing then please let us know and we will be able to get it fixed. Thanks

  23. No - none of the posts need to be moderated. Is this the post you put up? - If so it is showing on the forum fine.
  24. I've not had any issues with the speed (I actually think it is quicker at loading that it was before). Is anyone else finding it slower?
